The head of the Georgian Central Election Commission said the deadline for registration of candidates for the presidency of Georgia ended on Saturday and 46 candidates were nominated for the presidential election.

Ana Mikdalazha added that 26 candidates from civil society groups and 20 other volunteers were also introduced by political parties, according to Interfax news agency Georgia.
According to him, presidential candidates will have to provide at least 25,983 signatures of voters to support the Central Election Commission in support of the 30-day presidential election on September 28-6th of October.
The presidential elections in Georgia, October 28, will be held across the country, with the exception of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which have announced their separation from the government.
Under the constitutional amendment of Georgia, this period of the presidential election is the last election period for the president with a direct vote of the people and will be elected by parliamentarians in the next term of the president.
